Who am I, and why partner with me?
I am an experienced Social Care professional with over 17 years’ experience across the Health and Social Care sector, supporting organisations to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality services while navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.
My career began in 2009, driven by a genuine desire to make a positive difference. Having grown up around professionals working across education, health, and care, I developed an early appreciation for the impact that well-led, person-centred services can have on people’s lives. This foundation continues to shape my values and approach to my work today.
I started my career within Supported Living services, supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health needs, before progressing into Domiciliary Care, Assistive Technology, Supported Housing, Adult and Children’s Care Homes, and Business Development roles. This broad operational experience enables me to understand services from the ground up — not just from a strategic perspective, but from the realities faced by frontline teams and managers.
Over the course of my career, I have progressed from Bank Care Assistant to Director of Operations, working across Domiciliary Care, Care and Nursing Homes, Extra Care, Supported Living, Respite Services, and Day Opportunities. This journey has given me a deep, practical understanding of the challenges providers face, as well as the leadership, governance, and systems required to overcome them.
I have held senior and managerial roles across Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Coventry and Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and London (including Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey). As a result, I bring strong regional knowledge, established professional relationships, and familiarity with local authority expectations and key partner agencies.
In early 2022, I established my practice as an Independent Social Care Consultant, with the aim of sharing my expertise more widely and providing timely, practical, and proportionate support to Providers and Managers when they need it most.
Since then, I have worked with a diverse range of services across the UK — from small domiciliary care providers supporting fewer than 10 people, to supported living services, large care and nursing homes with over 80 beds, and specialist clinical neuro-rehabilitation centres. This breadth of experience enables me to tailor my approach to each organisation’s size, complexity, and regulatory risk.
My consultancy work spans the full spectrum of operational and strategic support, including recruitment and workforce stability, compliance and governance, safeguarding and whistleblowing investigations, business sales and TUPE transfers, crisis management and service recovery, and business turnaround support. I regularly support providers in responding to CQC Notices of Proposal and Decision, deliver interim management cover, and provide coaching and mentoring for Registered Managers, Nominated Individuals, and Directors. This is complemented by the delivery of CQC mock inspections, operational reviews, and quality assurance visits, all supported by clear, actionable recommendations.
Alongside my consultancy work, I continue to work directly within care settings as Agency Care Staff across both Adult and Children’s services. This ensures I remain operationally competent, fully up to date with current best practice in care delivery, and closely connected to the realities faced by frontline teams. This hands-on involvement strengthens my ability to relate to staff, provide credible leadership, and step in confidently during emergencies or periods of heightened risk.
By choosing to work with me, organisations benefit from a hands-on, collaborative, and solutions-focused consultant who leads by example. I am an “expert by experience” who is genuinely passionate about developing people, strengthening teams, and empowering services to deliver safe, compliant, and outstanding care.
